There\u2019s a version of my story where I disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where I accept my fate, fade into the background, and let the world have its way with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where I let the people who abandoned me win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that\u2019s not this story. That will never be my story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I refused to stay in the shadows<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Is How They Tried to Break Me<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I was 16 when I lost everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not because I did something wrong. Not because I was a failure. Not because I hurt anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I lost everything because I was gay<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I existed<\/strong> in a way that made other people uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the people who were supposed to love me unconditionally decided that their love had limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day, I had a family. The next, I didn\u2019t. Gone. Cut off. Erased.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No home. No money. No support. Just me. Completely alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was supposed to disappear. I was supposed to break.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And believe me, I almost did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world isn\u2019t kind to kids like me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids who don\u2019t fit the mold. Kids who aren\u2019t born into safety. Kids who get thrown away because they refuse to be someone they\u2019re not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system isn\u2019t built for us. Society doesn\u2019t protect us. We either find a way to survive\u2014or we don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I had a choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give up? Or fight like hell<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Chose to Fight<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When I applied to UWC, I wasn\u2019t just applying to a school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was betting on myself<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UWC wasn\u2019t just an education; it was a way out<\/strong>. A chance to prove that I wasn\u2019t just some tragedy, some lost cause, some sob story waiting to be forgotten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a way to say: I exist. I matter. And I am not going anywhere.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I got in, it was more than just an acceptance letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was my middle finger to every single person who thought I wouldn\u2019t make it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At UWC, I found people who understood. People who weren\u2019t afraid of difference. People who didn\u2019t ask me to shrink myself to make them comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in my life, I wasn\u2019t just surviving\u2014I was thriving<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And once I got a taste of that, I knew there was no going back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Skidmore? Because I Wasn\u2019t Done Yet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When it came time to pick a college, I wasn\u2019t looking for a place to just exist<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was looking for a place where I could build<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skidmore wasn\u2019t just a school\u2014it was a chance to take everything I had learned, everything I had fought for, and turn it into something bigger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I wasn\u2019t just here to get a degree. I was here to create something that couldn\u2019t be erased.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s exactly what I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Birth of Slayhood: Because I Refuse to Be Silenced<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I built SlayHood<\/strong> Magazine<\/strong><\/a> with my best friend Erdni Mangutov<\/a> who I met at UWC Dilijan because I was sick of watching queer voices be erased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sick of watching LGBTQ people like me be pushed aside, silenced, told to sit down and shut up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sick of seeing people like me<\/strong> struggle alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SlayHood isn\u2019t just a blog. It\u2019s a rebellion.<\/strong> A platform for every single person who has ever been told they don\u2019t belong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the ones who have been abandoned.
For the ones who have been bullied.
For the ones who have been told they\u2019ll never make it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is for us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there\u2019s one thing life has taught me, it\u2019s this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will try to break you.
They will try to silence you.
They will try to make you believe that you don\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But they don\u2019t get to decide that.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I decide that. You decide that.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was never meant to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So now? I\u2019m going to thrive. Loudly. Unapologetically. And on my own damn terms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
